The deadline for primary producers, small businesses and not-for-profit organisations to apply for flood and cyclone assistance has been extended until January 31, 2012.
The flood assistance package was due to finish on September 30 and the Cyclone Yasi package on October 31.
In announcing the extension, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh said more than $159 million had already been approved for 12,417 applicants.
The Business Enterprise Centre Ipswich Region (BECIR) welcomed the announcement, saying it would continue to support landholders, business operators and community organisations still rebuilding after the flood.
Since January, the BECIR has held more than 150 workshops attended by over 1500 people.
Further workshops covering various topics will be held at centres in the Ipswich CBD, Ipswich industrial areas, Bundamba, Rosewood, Goodna and the Lockyer Valley.
