Ipswich residents have more reasons to smile after the city won two national awards at the Keep Australia Beautiful Australian Sustainable Cities Awards held in the city of Stirling in Western Australia. Mayor Paul Pisasale was at the award ceremony to collect Ipswich's awards for Community Action and Partnerships and a highly commended in the Resource Recovery and Waste Management category.
Ipswich won the Queensland Sustainable Cities Award earlier this year in recognition of the city's strong recovery from the January flood and outstanding leadership in sustainable development.
The city has a strong history in the Keep Australia Beautiful awards program, winning the national Environmental Innovation and Protection category in 2009, followed by the Community Pride title last year
